Q: How do I add a new driver profile?

A: To add a driver:

  1. Go to Drivers and click + Add Driver.
  2. Enter the driver's name, license details, and contact information, or drop in their CDL to fill it in automatically.
  3. Assign a username and password for login.
  4. Save the profile.

Email is optional. If the email is already in use, see Driver Login Problems.

Q: How do I send an invite to a driver to log in and start using Digital Permit Book?

A: To send an invite to one or multiple drivers:

  1. Go to Drivers.
  2. Select the drivers.
  3. Click the ⋯ menu in the top-right corner.
  4. Click Send Invite.
  5. Enter a password for the drivers.
  6. Click Invite.

Q: How do I delete a driver?

A: To delete a driver:

  1. Open the driver profile.
  2. Click the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Delete Driver or Deactivate.

You can also deactivate multiple drivers at once:

  1. Select the drivers you want to deactivate.
  2. Click the ⋯ menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Choose Deactivate.

Q: My driver can't log in. What should I check?

A: If a driver is unable to log in, confirm these three things:

  • They're using the correct Company ID (from Settings > Other Settings).
  • Their username and password are correct. If unsure, set a new password from their profile.
  • Their account is set to Active. If deactivated, they won't be able to access the system.

For more help, see Driver Login Problems.

Q: How can a driver reset their password?

A: On the login screen, drivers who log in with email can tap Forget Password ?, enter their email, and follow the reset instructions. If the driver logs in with a username or doesn't have access to email, an admin can set a new password from their profile.

Q: Why does my deactivated driver still appear in Active drivers?

A: Sometimes, marking a driver inactive in the app doesn't fully remove them from Active drivers. To properly deactivate:

  1. Open the driver's profile.
  2. Click the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Select Deactivate.

This moves the driver into the Inactive tab.

Q: How do I reactivate an inactive driver?

A: Open the driver's profile from the Inactive tab, click the ⋮ menu, and select Activate. This restores login access and re-assigns their data.

Q: I can't add a driver email. It says it's already used.

A: The email is already linked to another driver profile, often at the driver's previous company. Each email can only be linked to one profile at a time. Email is optional, so you can leave it blank and add the driver with a username and password, or ask the previous company to remove it. See Driver Login Problems.
